HEMLOCK GROVE WORTH THE WATCH

So the other day I started seeing commercial for this new series Hemlock Grove on Netflix, so I thought I would give it a chance. Well surprise, surprise after watching the first episode of the series I am totally hooked. Sure it's a little bit confusing when you start watching it since there are a lot of flash backs that has to fill you in  on why some of the characters are the way they are but it's totally worth it.

The series is based in a town where strange things are starting to happen after a teenage gypsy and his mother move in to town. Girls start dying in gruesome ways and everyone thinks it's a wild beast, but Roman Godfrey and his new gypsy friend Peter Rumancek know the truth. SO starts the hunt for the creature eating up all the pretty girls in town. But Peter has a secret that he has entrusted to Roman. But can he keep his friends secret while he is mentally breaking down? And with a federal agent on the case while Peter's secret as well as Roman's own be found out? In a town where everyone is keeping a secret when they all start digging what will they all find?

Hemlock Grove so far is a great series. I have watched 8 out of 13 episodes so far and it always leaves you wanting more. Mind you it's not just the eye candy in Landon Liborion and Bill Skarsgard (Yes Skarsgard-He is related to one sexy vampire) brother of Alexander Skarsgard that keeps me watching, but the series it self is totally entertaining and worth while. The plot of the show drives you to watch it because you want to know how things will turn out for the characters and what secret this town is hiding.

Skarsgard's character Roman has to deal with being the "man" of his family while still being in high school and mentally dealing with the thought of what he really is. Roman see things in his dreams, dreams that he share to start with Peter Rumancek, his new Gypsy friend. Roman can feel that there is something coming but he can't explain it and hopes that being with Peter will help him figure things out.

You are introduced to a lot of character what you want to know even more:

Peter Rumancek portrayed by Landon Liboiron is a character that you feel for. Living the gypsy life he never really had a friend and Roman is the first person that he really connects with, but at the same time he is told by his mother that he has to be wary of Roman because of what he is. Even though he is total this Peter entrust Roman with his greatest and most painful secret.

Roman's mother Olivia Godfrey is one of the most puzzling characters. Portrayed by Famke Janssen, you wanted to know what this woman is hiding. She watched her husband commit suicide and runs his company  that's conducting all kinds of experiments.

Less to say there isn't anyway you can't find a character that you wont love. Hemlock Grove is worth the watch and you should totally check it out. On my meter I give it a 8.5 out of 10. Happy watching.

TOTAL MISS: JOHN OLIVER ON 2 TRAIN

Okay so this one is kind of about me and a total miss opportunity to say hi to someone that I  know from television. So last night after I left class I embarked on my long ride back to the dark streets of Brooklyn. While on the 2 train I saw a man come in wearing a NY Mets hat. I looked at him and at first didn't pay him much attention until my brain told me he looked familiar. So after looking at him again and then racking my brain I finally remembered who he was.

So as the train went on and people got off and on the train I made my way closer so I could make sure and yup I was right. So I waited and finally the person sitting next to him finally go up giving me the opportunity to sit next to him and say hi. Well it really really didn't work out that way. I sat next to him (and I know at this point you're like who was it already) looking over the notes that he was jotting down and attempted to work up the nerve to say hi and tell him that I found him very funny and that I liked his work on the Daily Show, but being the giant chicken that I am I didn't  So I sat there  next to John Oliver as he went over his notes for a show I am guessing and listening to what I guess was a rehearsal since he was talking to himself a little. So I sat there until he arrived at the Atlantic Ave/Barley Center stop and got off the train and I thought to myself  you're such a chicken.

It's amazing how when you see someone that is in the industry and you want to express your admiration to them of their work and talent, but you totally miss it because you're either too chicken, too shy, or you rationalize yourself out of doing because you say "hey he is just a normal guy riding the train, let him be. You don't get the opp. to say what you should have said. Well this is me saying "Hey John Oliver...Love your work on The Daily Show. I think your awesomely funny." So whether he remembers the young lady sitting next to him in her  green Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hoodie or not it was a total miss moment for me. So next time you see someone you admire say hi and tell them you think they are really great at whatever they do and keep it moving (you don't wanna be the weirdo). But don't let total misses happen to you.

COMIC CON 2013: NEVER TOO EARLY

So I am really really excited for this years Con. Why you make ask? Well for the share fact that last year I missed out on meeting a lot of really interested people and getting great pictures of the actors of the shows that I love. Well this year it will not be so! I've been checking the NYCC website off and on for the last couple of weeks to see has already said they would be there and I am totally drooling at the though of meeting two of the already confirmed guest.

So as for right now one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite shows will be gracing us with her presences. Yes I am talking about Eve Myles who plays Gwen Cooper on the BBC's TORCHWOOD. I love that show and I love her character because she gives the team feeling and she is a strong character that stands besides Captain Jack in the worst of things. So I am really happy that she will be at the Comic Con this year because I might get to ask her when they are going to start shooting Torchwood again? As you may or may not know after season four the show was placed on hold, which to me was just crushing. Happily Eve will be appearing all 3 days at the con so I am hoping that I can get a couple questions answered. Totally crossing my fingers for that.

Another fabulous lady scheduled to appear at Comic Con this year is the nerd queen herself Felicia Day. Felicia who has appeared in numerous shows, such as Eureka and my favorite Supernatural will be appearing there all 3 days and I am hoping to get the chance to meet her. Ms. Day who stars in the hit web series The Guild is an amazing talent who shines in all that she does.

I am a really big fan of her website Geek & Sundry which features a lot of interesting news for all of nerd & geek kind. Not only does the site host Felicia's show The Guild, but it is also the home of TableTop which is hosted by my childhood crush Wil Wheaton (I really have to thank her for that).

Anyway this fan girl will now shut up and update you readily on who will be appear at NYCC as the months go by and the even draws closer. Hopefully I can raise the funds needed to go to the even for 3 days. But here is my wish list of people I would love to see there this year yes most of them are men...but what do you expect.

John Barrowman
David Tennent (the 10th Doctor Who)
The cast of Lost Girls
The cast of Supernatural

Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man)
