NEW COVERS FOR THE BOOKS THAT STARTED IT ALL

So since I last wrote about still having writer's block. I've been looking a lot at my old pieces of work and started to give their covers a facelift. After watching YouTube and learning more about blogs and a bunch of other stuff, I came across an ad for  Canva.com . Yes I know I might be late to the party for those that have already been using this website to create book covers, but for those that are late with me welcome to the party. Canva offers you a wide array of covers some for free and others at a cost. I being broke and new to the site opted to try the free covers that they had and try to design my own with the templates and art that they supply. It's pretty easy and if I can do it so can you. The site is pretty easy to navigate and searching for what you want is fairly smooth. First I made a new cover for the book that started it all, The Adventures of Marco and Carla: The Dark Castle . As you may or may not know your cover has to be a specific size if you are go...

Update It's Been A While

Hey kids, It's been a while..but I am back and trying to get back into blogging as well as my writing. I am working a lot more now since I finally landed a job, but it takes up a lot of my time. I am on vacation right now until next year and I've been trying to type up my latest sorry forever, but so far it's been a struggle. I will get it done hopefully by next week and published early 2017. In other news I've been painting as a way of bonding with my son...here is some of my work. I think with the time I have off I am going to focus on my writing a trying to draw up what it should look like. I'll see you all later.

IT'S BEEN A WHILE

Hey all it's ME!!! Well it sure has been a while since I posted anything here, and I wanted to come by and give and update on what is going on around me, with me, and for me. Life is so a big ball of stress, but you have to push through it and smile or else you will totally drown. So let's first start off with what's going on around me. Well most of you know that I live in New York and last week was a total mess with traffic and all since the Pope was in town. There were a lot of people out there showing love to the Pope for his visit to the United States. I only got to see him on TV, because I wasn't going to go out there  plus, I like my sanity. Getting through any cowards in New York will drive you totally crazy. But it's great to see so many people show their faith, since so much of us really don't.  Whatelse??? Well unless you are one of the mold people or living in a cave you totally saw the Super Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse. It was amazing! I spe...

GRAMMAR CHECKER- GRAMMARLY.COM

Hi All, So I recently released my book Altered Genesis, and wouldn't you know it, after uploading the book and ordering a copy I found some  mistakes that I did not catch before publishing. So I had to spend more time and more money fixing the book to re-upload it again, and send off for more copies. My point is it's always good to have a second peer of eyes going over what you've written. Those eyes can catch all the small mistakes that could cost you big. We sometimes hire an editor to help us with our books, but what if those editors also need eyes watching them. I was recently told about Grammerly which if you didn't figure by the name is a website that serves a second peer of eyes for you and freelance editors. GREAT!! A site that will catch all those mistakes that you and your editor might overlook. I wanted to share the infographic that was sent to me. The information provided is great for writers, who are looking to hire freelance editors to help make ...

REVISITING OLD PROJECTS

Greetings All, So I've been thinking of what should get done first regarding my books and stories and have been revisiting alot of my projects that have fallen to the way side. I started on the edits for The Receptionist and so far so go. I am hoping to have it done by the end of the year, like I said in my previous article. I am really happy with it so far, since a lot of people that have read the rough version of it really liked and wanted to know what happend to the characters involved in this piece. Happily I will say that this piece of work is more towards the teen and the adult reading group, because of some of the content. I am trying to be dual minded as far as writing things for kids and writing for adults also. Even though I love writing for children, I don't want to close myself off as a writer, so I am exploring as far as writing other things. So, I have about four to five projects on hand for you all to read and hopefully I can upload a sample of one...

Book Update

So yesterday I finally finished typing up book one of my new sci-fi-distopia novella. It has been sitting around since June 2013 waiting to be typed up, but everything (school, job, life) got in the way. But happily I did that yesterday and now I am headed into editing and see if everything I've done so far works. Also on a happy note, I will be handing off a copy to a good friend of mine graphic designer and Illustrator Ian WIllis. Ian and I will be collaborating on possible putting some illustrations in my latest work and working on future projects together. Hopefully I will have a concept to show you of the book cover for my new book and also the title. I really didn't say anything about it because I don't know if I want to keep the title, since I was in Barnes and Nobles sometime ago and found a book there with the exact same title. SO, I am thinking I might ad something to it so that at least it's somewhat different. Well if you would like to view more of ...
