BBC PREMIERE NIGHT: DOCTOR WHO & ORPHAN BLACK

SO! I watched the premiere of both Doctor Who and Orphan Black and I am impressed and at the same time totally skeptical. When they kindly killed off the Ponds I was totally like who are they going to get us to love? And is this new show even worth watching.  First off Doctor Who. I like any other Whovian is totally elated at the return of my beloved Doctor. The first episode was a great concept that reminds me of the episode where River Sing got killed and placed in digital world of the library, but enough of that I just want to say that even though the episode was cool I am not liking the chemistry between the Doctor and his new companion Clara. I know you're saying it's just the first episode, but with all the new companions you can automatically tell they are going to be a great match for our wonder man in the box. I didn't get this with the new companion at all. Fine yes yes I should wait a couple episodes before I judge but so far I am not on the boat. I will...

Chinua Achebe Dies at 82

Picture by Craig Ruttle/Associated Press To those that have read my paper on Things Fall Apart . The author of the great book about the change one faces when other forces invades your world, passed away on Thursday, March 28th, 2013 in Boston. Chinua Achebe was 82. This man with his works gave African literature a voice here in America. After publishing Things Fall Apart Achebe gain the world's attention. His book went on to sell 10 million copies in 45 languages today. It is still used in many classrooms and has since  become an instant classic. His agent in London said that Mr. Achebe died after battling a brief illness. This literary titan will be missed, but his work will live on to tell his story. If you haven't read Things Fall Apart you should give it a go. It is both insightful and thought provoking.

Revolution is Back

OMG did you just see that? We spent all  last season looking for this kid and he gets shot!  Talk about starting the season off with a shocker. This season  is going to be a crazy one and I am looking forward to it.

MARCH MADNESS: NO I AM NOT TALKING BASKETBALL

So are you excited? Are you going crazy with anticipation? You're sitting there saying crazy over what? Well  HELLO! It's March which means in two more weeks our favorite Doctor will be back to pay us a visit. Yes on March 30th, Matt Smith resumes his role as out ever beloved 11th incarnation as Doctor Who. Last season we lost the beloved Ponds (Williams which ever you want to call them) and in December we got the Christmas special which showed us who the new companion was to be. So I am really excited to see what the season wholes for the Doctor and the search from his new companion Clara portrayed by actress Jenna Louis Coleman (she died like 2 times already and she wasn't even his companion yet).  So I wonder what adventures will behold them...OMG I can't wait. Another series I am excited to see return on March 31st @ 9PM is Game of Thrones. I can tell you that I am really excited because this season looks like it going to be crazy. Last season ...

DIARY OF A MAD FAT WOMAN: FIGHTING BACK

Greetings all. It's been a while, but I am back with a little story that I felt I need to tell. So 2013 started off nice and I have since gained some more weight since my first post. The battle with food continues and I for one am a true Jamaican-American, in other words I am a fighter. I decided that I am not going to let nature get the best of me. All the weight that I gained from having my child is still there staring me in the face, and boy does it look mean. So you might be asking yourself "So what are you doing about it?" Well my lovely readers this mad fat woman has decided to kick the weigh off. Kick it off??? yes I said kick it off. I started taking kickboxing classes over a week ago and I can tell you if this doesn't get my booty back in shape then nothing will. I got tired of the same old gym routine and wanted something different. I thought since I do like hitting and punching things (No I am not crazy) why not kickboxing. So I looked up kickboxing stu...
